Access Standards & Legislation

Access Australia interactive CPD Workshops describe and provide opportunities for participants to discuss the DDA (Disability Discrimination Act), APS (Access to Premises Standard) and access provisions of BCA 2011.

This is an AIA (Australian Institute of Architects) accredited CPD program.

The Workshops raised awareness of the process of access, linking information, public domains, transport and built environments – and assists in identifying best practice, innovation and provision of more accessible and equitable environments and services.

Access Australia (AA) was established in 1985 and provides access strategies, assessments, reports, seminars and workshops. AA experience includes.

AS1428 Standards Australia Committees – since 1975
Sydney 2000 Olympic & Paralympic Games
UN Convention on the Rights of PWDs – 2004 to date
APS negotiations and hearings – 2009
Public domain & built environments including University of Sydney, UTS, Westfield & City of Sydney
